Now that Christmas is done; I hope everyone had a GREAT holiday and the new year is right around the corner, has anyone put any thought into a New Year resolution? I have. I'm going to try very hard to quit smoking. It's a thorn in my side.
I had my first cigarette at the prime young age of 13 (peer pressure, gotta love it) and have been a "commited" smoker since I was 15.... I'm now 35. So I have been smoking for 20 years. It's has to stop. Not because it's getting expensive, not for health reasons (that's a good part of it). But because I want to be a better example to my daughter. I don't smoke near her or around her, I don't smoke in the house but she sees me doing it and it's pretty bad when your 3 year old tells you that when she gets bigger, she's going to smoke too. Not if I can help it! My husband is a non-smoker and doesn't give me any grief about my addiction (God bless him!) but I know he wants me to quit; even if he doesn't say it out loud.
So, that is my resolution. I have try to quit before and I quit when I was pregnant so I know I can do it. I have a prescription for Chantix; I just haven't filled it yet but I think I'm going to.
Wish me luck!
So? What are your new year resolutions?
Enjoy your day!

Wishing you the best with your resolution Jen. That is something I need to do to, not sure if I am as ready as you are but I will be here to help cheer you on.
ReplyDeleteGood for you Jen. You can do it. We know you can. My sister just quit a year ago after smoking since 13 also. She is 47. So you can do it if she did. She's got a few years of you. LOL She'd kill me if she heard me say that. Good luck to ya. My resolution is to STOP eating. Ok not totally but I'm gonna sure stop eating as much.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it, Jen! My husband smokes (pretty close story there), and I recently heard my son say when he was older he was going to smoke too...it about broke my heart. You can do anything, just remember that.
ReplyDeleteWe're all behind you!! You can do it. Mine is to get back to eating better and take these extra lbs off!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your resolution! It's a tough one, but you can do it! A mom can do anything for her children. Deep breathing and skinny pretzels from Costco have helped my husband....
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to get more exercise and eat better, so I'm busy "finishing up" all the holiday goodies in the house before Thursday!
You go girl! We all have our additions, you are brave to publish yours. We will all pray for you. You will never be sorry you quit smoking! YOU CAN DO IT!
