Jelly Roll Sampler - Block Nine

Here's my block 9.  I got it done yesterday.  One more thing off my To Do list; which seems to be growing and not getting any shorter.

And here are all nine together.

Three more blocks to go.  It seems to be coming together.  I think the next block I'll try and make it without the background fabric (solid white).  The one block with no white in it at all (first row, second one) kind of sticks out now.  Maybe I'll do the last three with no background fabric if I can help it.

I've decided on my backing fabric.  I just need to decide on my outer border fabric.  I'm thinking the blue with the strawberries on it.  There isn't much out there to chose from.  Very little and those that are available, I really don't like.  I haven't even used those particular fabric strips in my blocks yet.

I do have a little show and tell from the Vermont Quilt Festival that I went to last weekend.  I just need to get them all downloaded.  If you're interested, I'll post them!  :)

Enjoy your day!
Jen

  1. Congratulations on keeping up with this quilt along! I made sure I put some of the background fabric in each of my blocks, to help pull it all together. I didn't do the last two blocks and I don't think I'm going to. I have two different blocks in mind to make up and then I'm going to put them together and be done with this project! I just have too many other things calling my name! LOL

  3. I like them all...but I understand the idea of taking the background out at this point...to balance the other blocks.

  6. Hi Jen! Another beautiful block! Those fabrics are so cheerful. Some fabric lines do have some clunkers, don't they? (re: the ones you haven't used yet) I'm a month behind on my coffee quilt BOM, I hate being late!! Can't wait to see your Festival pics!

  8. You're doing great. I still need to do this block. I am still checking everyone's out and deciding how I want to do it. They look good together. Sounds like a good plan to take out the background fabric.

  9. Hi Jen,
Love those blocks! I think going without the white is a good idea at this point, and the blue with strawberries will be just perfect!
