Sharon has worked her quilty magic once again! And quick, too! I send her my hexagon table runner and a wallhanging that I pieced for Amelia over a year ago but did nothing with. LOVE them both!
On Amelia's wallhanging, she quilted happy sunshines and butterflies.
On the table runner, she quilted bees. Love it! It's on the recliner because my table is loaded with papers and I REALLY didn't feel like cleaning it off to take a proper picture.
Now it's binding time. I really should hand stitch the binding on the backs of these things but you know what?? I'm STILL hand sewing the binding on the first quilt that Sharon quilted for me and that was done over a year ago! In my defense, I was scared to hand sew because I didn't understand the process. But I finally started it and I understand but it is slooooow going. I get hand and eye fatigue so I do it when I can. I try to do it in the evenings but sometimes I'm just too wiped out to bother. I think I'm going to machine these on. At least the table runner. I want to get it on my table!
Thank you Sharon! More will be coming your way soon!!
Enjoy your day!

I love the quilting on those! I have some butterfly fling to make into something! That wall hanging is just too sweet! :0)
ReplyDeleteSo you're the lucky one who got the bees and butterflies! Adorable. Actually, my favorite part of quilting is the hand sewing of binding. Get yourself a good movie and R-E-L-A-X.

I love both your quilt and tablerunner! I love the quilting on them both! I need a long arm quilter! Hand sewing binding can be tedious, but is do rewarding. I like to watch a movie or but on some music and just sew away; at night it can give you a second wind because it is so relaxing! Is there a pattern for the tablerunner? Absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteThey're both beautiful Jen! I love sewing bindings on -- you'll get faster with practice. I can do a big quilt now in just a few hours, so I really enjoy it!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! I love the bees! Hand sewing the binding is my favorite part of the process.....
ReplyDeleteVery cute...love the sun, butterfuly, but the bee is my favorite. Really, she did a great job, you must be pleased.
ReplyDeleteSharon did a great job on your lovely quilts! Doesn't it feel good to have them finished? (oh how would I know? It's been such a long time since I finished anything...)
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful, Jen! So, what's next?
What a precious little girl quilt. And I love the hex quilt. You are so right, machine binding is so quick but I only sew into the edges and then whip stitch from there.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe and wonderful 4th!
Beautiful quilts and quilting. I love the hexagon runner, you can see all the hard work that was put into it. And the wall-hanging is so pretty and cheerful. I'm working on a binding too...although I admit that I love this part. The fact that it's almost done helps make me feel good!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful finishes Jen. You will get faster at hand stitching the binding with practice. It actually gets to be relaxing. I hand stitched my whole Merry Go Round quilt at the retreat.
ReplyDeletethey look awesome...someday I will have to have her quilt one for me. I have been saying that for over a year....
ReplyDeleteBOOM! Sparkle, sparkle!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th!
