I want to make new stockings for all of us this year too (by all of us I mean the dogs too,LOL). Im going yo give it a good try. I say if you can find the time to make new stockings, go for it.
Your or my ability to make all new stockings this year depends on the complexity of the pattern. So Go Simple or start collecting materials to work with in January.
For many years and while my boys were young I kept saying I wanted homemade stockings. Every year I pulled out the handy dandy store bought and would sigh...saying same as you...no time. Finally one year in the midst of summer I got a wild hair and whipped up four stockings. I'm glad I did while they were young so they remember always that special stocking. NOW....I need to update that tree skirt...no time! LOL
Sorry but I'm not going to stop you, yes there is always next year, but you could say that every year then and still never get to enjoy them :) Hmm perhaps that means I should actually finish that little Christmas bucket I have had half finished for the last 3 years...
Wife, Mom to a bright and cheerful little girl, novice quilter/sewer. I'm a more of a sassy/fun sewer. I'm not much into the "traditional" fabric. Red/aqua/lime green for Christmas? That's for me!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I get the same feelings around this time of the year too. I say do what you know, realistically, that you can do.
