I finished the first block in the Birdie Stitches BOM. I like it. Since hand embroidery is a new-to-me skill, I need to work on my stitch lengths. I'm a bit uneven in places. But in the grand scheme of things, I'm happy with the results.
One thing I did different was I did a solid border around the blocks with cornerstones instead of a scrappy block border. I like that much better. This idea suits me. And I like that the fabric reminds me of snowflakes... of course as I'm sitting here writing this post, I just thought of 2 fabrics in my stash that have actual snowflakes on them! Oh well. I like this fabric choice better.
I'm ready for February's block!
Enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteYour block looks great! I like how you did your borders! :0)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That's too cute. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe birdie is adorable! I have a "thing" about snowmen {Anything with Snowmen is relegated to the "gifts only" list; I refuse to decorate with them. I live in South Florida. Snowmen have no place here! LOL} but this little guy is cute with his birdie friend. So do tell about this February block... Are you working on another awesome project that is going to make me add *another* item to my to do list? :)
ReplyDeleteOMG that's cute! I want in...even though I said I wouldn't start anything new until the UFOs were out of the way. Or did i say that? You didn't actualy hear me say that, did you?

ReplyDeleteI love the sashing fabric! Your stitches are way more uniform than mine! In fact, it was just recently that I thought, 'hmm...Maybe I should try to be more consistent.' But you know, I craft for fun...no perfection required! ;D
