Tuesday 9/6 by 6pm

That, my friends, is the projected estimate from the power company as to when we will have power restored at my house.  T-U-E-S-D-A-Y.  Like NEXT WEEK.

Someone please do a little voodoo dance or something to make the power come back sooner!!!

I should not complain.  Many are suffering from loss of homes that got swept away in storm surges, flooding, property damage from trees and poles.  We had none of that.  We have running water and a generator to help keep things going here but it's still tough.  I have to be careful as to what I run in the house.  I can't overload the circuit.  So it's just a major pain in the you know what.

I would never make it on Little House on the Prairie.  NEVER.

And with that said, I'm tired of not sewing so I'm going to go do just that!

Enjoy your day!
Jen

  3. Wow! I guess you're one of those I hear them talking about on the radio. Has school been canceled until then also? Our schools won't start until Tuesday, a week later than planned. That's nothing though because I have power. Hoping it will be restored sooner than they say!

  4. Hold on--they may get to you and get your power up and running sooner! My friend in Woodbury was told nine days and she got it back in two! So there is hope! I will say a prayer and do a dance.

  8. Wow. Hang in there -- sew punkie up a bonnet and play pioneer. Ok, I know that wasn't funny. But, like I said. Lottery Ticket.

  9. Stay tough...you can do it! Far worse things AND lucky you have a gnerator to help. I clearly understand frustration....what would be worse for me is if it was Winter and COLD.

  10. Feel free to come to TX and use my power! hehe Though it's over 100 degrees most days, but the pools are still open thru this weekend. That's where I'll be with the kids. That and in the 72 degree house doing some sewing on ALOT of projects! Jenn

  11. I'll send some good vibes your way Jen! Hopefully they are just giving you the longest time period and it will be sooner! I bet you would make it on the prairie, because back then you didn't know any different. Now days there are so many things to lose, back then there wasn't :) Hang it there!!

  12. We had a minor power outage winter before last -- three days-- and the first thing I bought was a battery operated book light and I promised myself I was going to buy a treadle sewing machine! Haven't done that yet but am dreading winter since this summer has been so miserable.
