Quilters ADD

I have Quilters ADD.  Seriously.  I have 4 more coupon clutches to make and I need to finish them all up (sew the turning hole and print out the inserts).  I would like to finish 2 pillowcases for my bed.  I would like to start a new tote for myself.  I am traveling for work next week.  Yes.  Week before Christmas and I need to fly across the country for 4 days.  You would think that's enough on my plate.  Nope.

I want to make this.

Sigh.  I love it.  Here's my dilemma.  I have been collecting pinks and oranges for a pink and orange quilt for myself.  But I love the bright and happiness of this scrappy look.  Now, scrappy is not "me" but then if they were MY scraps, it WOULD be "me" right??

So do I make a pink and orange version or a fun scrappy version (using some of those pinks and oranges that I've been collecting)?  This is going to be a "when I'm bored with other projects, I'll work on this one" kind of project.  No rush.  No hurry.

What do you think?

Enjoy your day!
Jen

  1. Pink and orange go really well together. If that's what you've been dreaming of, go for it! Four days of travel next week? Be sure to take your camera - you might come across some really nice Christmas decorations we would all love to see.

    Have a safe trip.

  2. That is a beautiful quilt, I don't blame you one bit! That's a good idea, just work on it in between other things. Sorry about traveling for work, but at least you get to stay in a hotel (I LOVE that part)!

  3. If you've been collecting different pinks and oranges along the way, then it will probably turn into a scrappy pink and orange quilt that you will love forever! :)

  4. I think it would look awesome in pink and orange! Will you do them all mixed together or do some blocks with pinks in the center and oranges on the border of the block and some with orange in the center and pink in the outside? Either way would look awesome!

  7. That's a beautiful quilt! I think it would look great either way! And if you've been saving up for a pink and orange quilt, this might be just the one to use that fabric on! On the other hand...I LOVE scrappy! :0)

  8. Ok. I'm going to provide the dissenting view here -- go scrappy LOL! Sorry about the travel -- very bad timing! Btw...you got the good cover of that magazine -- the cover in our stores is the alternate one -- which is fine, it's just that I wanted YOUR cover!

  9. I think scrappy with the pinks and oranges thrown in too!! I love scrappy...to me scrappy means a whole line of a designer also. Be safe in your travels....have fun too! ;o)

  10. You could always use what you already have, and get the pink and orange quilt you want, but then start collecting other sort of "scrappier" pieces to make another one in the scrappy version. Then you will have both :) Or you could see what you have and add a few more fabrics to make it more scrappy :)Have safe travels!

  11. I've said that before about this is my no rush quilt pattern...but sometimes those end up being the ones we push to finish because of our excitement about them. I couldn't imagine having to take a business trip with all else to do this time of year...I hope this weekend is producive for you!!
