Lori Holt created a very cute barn block complete with a quilt block tutorial and I just had to make one. She is making a quilt with 12 blocks. I think I'm going to stop at 4 blocks for a wall hanging size. Appropriate for us since we're a farm now; even though we don't have any red barns with a quilt block on it. It was quick to put together.
Lori's example showed a Weathervane quilt block but I did a Churn Dash block instead. Less pieces to cut and piece together. Each of the 4 barns I do will be a different red fabric but the roofs will all be black gingham to have them all coordinate somewhat. I have my second quilt block done and ready for the next barn.
Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!

Very cute Jen! I think a wall hanging for your farm will be perfect.
ReplyDeleteReally love the red/blue combo! Did you ever decide on a name for your farm?
ReplyDeletelove your barn!
ReplyDeleteYour block looks great! I really wanted to make these, but the first block was a bit much for me. You were smart to start with something simpler!
ReplyDeleteVery cute Jen! Will you do the same block in the side of your barn for the other three blocks?
ReplyDeleteVery cute!! I want to make that too.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be so cute, I really love the fabric you chose!
ReplyDeleteCheery!
ReplyDeleteI like your barn! I am doing it also and I am not sure if I will make all of the blocks.
