What's been going on at our house...

Snowmobiling around the yard with Daddy. Amelia was so excited to do this. 2 years ago, she was terrified and hated the noise. This year, she begged to go on it. Now she wants HER OWN 'sled' so that she can go snowmobiling with Daddy; who, by the way, is in Vermont right now for a few days, doing just that.

Building a snow person lounging around. The snow wasn't strong enough to have a "regulation" snowman so Chris laid him down. Very creative.

Here are the best ones yet. Punkie has taken to tossing things in the air in the house. She was playing with her coloring tote, tossing it around. I was on the computer in the other room and Chris was in the living room, on the phone.

Next thing I hear is Chris "HOW did you manage to do THAT???!" as he was laughing. And then Amelia is crying. I pop around the corner to see what's going on. This is what I see...

SOMEHOW she tossed her tote in the air and it got hooked on our ceiling fan. Mind you, we have cathedral ceilings...

And here's Punkie, all upset because we were laughing.... not AT her but at her. She didn't find it very funny.

Good times!

My latest projects... swaps!

Work REALLY gets in the way of play time! I haven't had much time to sew but I've been trying to get things done since I have a few deadlines.

First, my signature blocks for Rachel's modern siggy block swap.

76 done. 25 more to go. I used Snow Flower by Dena Designs for FreeSpirit fabrics. I have to cut off all my stray threads too... mental note.

Next, my pot holders for the potholder pass. They aren't finished yet. I need to put on the binding. I used Eva by Moda. The colors here in the pictures are a bit drab. They are a bit brighter in person.

If I have time, I have plans to make an embroidered kitchen towel to go with them. I love the pink paisley, flowery one. I plan to use more of this in another project brewing in my head. But that's for another time.

Once these projects are done, my sewing machine will go in for service. Nothing is wrong with it but I have a 3 year plan for free service so I might as well use it!

AND then I have plans to continue on my lap quilt, move into my new sewing room which will force me to organize my fabric stash - it's growing and exploding around me. And move onto Easter projects. I have something very cute in mind to do for the kiddos. :)

Enjoy your day!

WHOA! I SEWED something!!

And I FINISHED it! *Pats self on back*. LOL! Sorry. Work has been so nutty and with my back issues during the holiday week, I just haven't had time to sew. But my LQS had a 25% off everything sale last weekend and I popped in. Picked up some yardage and this...

I like Lazy Girl patterns. They are quite easy to do and I've been holding off on getting this particular pattern because I really couldn't figure out how I would use it if I made one. Well, the lightbulb started to burn a bit brighter and I had an A-HA moment.

Here are mine...

And the inside...

And my use for them?

Love them! For the last two years I was using a Snap Happy bag that I made but it was ripping because it was getting banged around and abused in my laptop bag. These Maggies are a perfect size. I could have shoved the USB cord and earphones into the bigger one with my iTouch but I didn't like the bulkiness of it. So I made two separate ones.

Here they are hooked together so they don't lose each other.

And I want to make another for my camera. I'm happy to have one project done. But I broke my own rule and snuck in a project while working on other stuff. Shame. Shame. I'm working on getting blocks pieced together for a lap quilt and I'm working on getting my signature blocks done for the siggy swap.

I hope to have more to show you soon! Okay, time to pay attention to the telecom I'm on! Gotta love multi-tasking!

Enjoy your day!

I have a loof toof

Okay, here's something that you didn't know about me. I still have one single baby tooth left in my mouth. And it's loose. And it's DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!! There are days I can ignore it - like yesterday. And there are days where I can't - like today. I have been wiggling it and jiggling it and pushing it back and forth. I can't leave it alone! Once I start, I can't stop!

I would like to have my husband take a pair of (clean) pliers and yank it out of my head. Or tie a string around it, attach the other end of said string to a door and have someone slam that door shut. As you can tell, I want it GONE.

My dentist knows of my loose tooth and I inquired about having it removed at my last cleaning. He joked and said "have you not heard of string and a door?" Yeah, yeah. Funny guy. Pulling it out is not a problem. The problem is the location of the tooth. It's right up front. Can't have a hole in my mouth forever; right up front! I don't want my other teeth to shift either. So, next step would be an implant. Cost? $3,900.... which I don't have right now. BUT if the tooth were to come out "on its own...?" I would have no choice to get the implant. Right? Right. That's my reasoning.

At least that is the reasoning so that my husband would pay for it. I doubt my insurance would cover any of it.

So that's it. My tooth is bothering me. I've worked on some sewing. I had started a lap quilt but I put that aside for right now. I'm working on my signature blocks for psiquilt's swap and I joined a potholder swap too. Once I have a decent amount of blocks done, I'll show you.

So excuse now while I go find a pair of pliers...

Enjoy your night!

I'm BACK!

Goodness! What did we do with ourselves before computers??!! Last Tuesday we had wicked winds and I was online, surfing the blogs and we had a power blip. Power was out for 2 minutes, tops. That was enough time to fry my DSL modem. On top of that, I pulled some back muscles doing laundry of all things on Tuesday morning so I couldn't crawl around on the floor to check stuff out.

My husband came home and confirmed that the modem had no power to it. I called to get a new one sent out and the woman assured me that it would be delivered on Thursday. Well, it came this morning. After much swearing and phone calling to the phone company to get everything reset, I'm back online.

Phew. I don't think I could have handled another day without email, blogs or Facebook! LOL! Not to mention I have to do some real work today after being off for 2 weeks!

Okay, I'm off to do some blog reading. I have a lot to catch up on!! LOL.

Enjoy your day!
