My latest projects... swaps!

Work REALLY gets in the way of play time! I haven't had much time to sew but I've been trying to get things done since I have a few deadlines.

First, my signature blocks for Rachel's modern siggy block swap.

76 done. 25 more to go. I used Snow Flower by Dena Designs for FreeSpirit fabrics. I have to cut off all my stray threads too... mental note.

Next, my pot holders for the potholder pass. They aren't finished yet. I need to put on the binding. I used Eva by Moda. The colors here in the pictures are a bit drab. They are a bit brighter in person.

If I have time, I have plans to make an embroidered kitchen towel to go with them. I love the pink paisley, flowery one. I plan to use more of this in another project brewing in my head. But that's for another time.

Once these projects are done, my sewing machine will go in for service. Nothing is wrong with it but I have a 3 year plan for free service so I might as well use it!

AND then I have plans to continue on my lap quilt, move into my new sewing room which will force me to organize my fabric stash - it's growing and exploding around me. And move onto Easter projects. I have something very cute in mind to do for the kiddos. :)

Enjoy your day!

Jen :)

  3. Those potholders are adorable. I love the colors. Can we see pics of the new sewing room after you get it organized? It's fun to see other people's creative space.

  7. I know what you mean about work cutting into playtime... but you seem to be getting lots done! Yay! The potholders are so cute.

What ARE you going to do while your machine is in for servicing? I need to take mine in (especially to get it cleaned!) but I keep procrastinating. I mean, what if I NEED it and it's not here??

  8. Cute siggy blocks and I love the potholders Jen. My machine needs to go in the shop too. It's making some strange vibrating thing when I turn it on. Not good.
