Okay, here's something that you didn't know about me. I still have one single baby tooth left in my mouth. And it's loose. And it's DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!! There are days I can ignore it - like yesterday. And there are days where I can't - like today. I have been wiggling it and jiggling it and pushing it back and forth. I can't leave it alone! Once I start, I can't stop!
I would like to have my husband take a pair of (clean) pliers and yank it out of my head. Or tie a string around it, attach the other end of said string to a door and have someone slam that door shut. As you can tell, I want it GONE.
My dentist knows of my loose tooth and I inquired about having it removed at my last cleaning. He joked and said "have you not heard of string and a door?" Yeah, yeah. Funny guy. Pulling it out is not a problem. The problem is the location of the tooth. It's right up front. Can't have a hole in my mouth forever; right up front! I don't want my other teeth to shift either. So, next step would be an implant. Cost? $3,900.... which I don't have right now. BUT if the tooth were to come out "on its own...?" I would have no choice to get the implant. Right? Right. That's my reasoning.
At least that is the reasoning so that my husband would pay for it. I doubt my insurance would cover any of it.
So that's it. My tooth is bothering me. I've worked on some sewing. I had started a lap quilt but I put that aside for right now. I'm working on my signature blocks for psiquilt's swap and I joined a potholder swap too. Once I have a decent amount of blocks done, I'll show you.
So excuse now while I go find a pair of pliers...
Enjoy your night!

That must be driving you crazy. But at least you have a visit from the toof fairy to look forward to :o)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, one of my front teeth became loose and drove me crazy. I feel for you.
Wow, you are in a pickle. Groaning for you here.
ReplyDeleteKeep on smiling... well, forget that, did you find the pliers, eh!?
Oh my goodness. I had a baby tooth left over, too. And the adult tooth that should have come in was stuck in the roof of my mouth! So... guess what they did? They pulled out the tooth (it wasn't loose), cut a hole in the roof of my mouth (can you say OUCH) and pulled that tooth into place by attaching a bracket to it. I was 29 when this all happened.
ReplyDeleteI hope yours comes out soon; however, I do not envy you the $3900 price tag. My insurance did cover the cost.
which tooth?? inquiring dentist wants to know LOL
ReplyDeleteTooth problems are just the worst! Here's hoping it stops driving you nutz soon.
ReplyDeleteyour story made me smile! I have a missing tooth in the back but I have heard too many horror stories about implants. Not going there. Can they make a bridge for it instead?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about fiddling with something that bothers you. Does that toothache medicine help or at lease numb it...I know you don't have a toothache but sometimes the stuff can help.
ReplyDeleteActually, my college roommate has the same issues with baby teeth, only she has several. She says it runs in her family. Does it in yours? The implants are outragious, but what are your going to do? Not do it? You'll do it. But, I do feel for you. That is crazy expensive.
ReplyDeleteYou still have a baby tooth? I'm sorry to giggle, but that's funny. Surely your dentist can come up with some medical reason (so your health insurance would cover it?) related to having a gap which would cause your teeth to shift and weaken your jaw and cause it to break and allow your brain to cave in. Or something like that??? ;-)
