| Fabric line - Giddy |
I did this the Jen way. Just wing it. So there are some repeats and blocks next to each other. But it worked for me. I didn't stress about the block layout. I just wanted to get it DONE. I'm at a cross road though. I have backing and binding fabrics already but now that I'm seeing it on my bed, I'm thinking of adding a border so that I can use it a bed quilt versus a lap quilt. What do you think? Leave it or add a border (just one)?
The next big decision is to quilt this myself really simply or send it out. Decisions, decisions.
I hear today is the Super Bowl? Won't be on at my house. :)
Enjoy your day!
Jen :)

I love it Jen. I would add borders to make it big enough for your bed. I added a border to mine but I should have added two as its still not quite big enough for my Queen size bed. So now I need to make another bed quilt so we can actually both be covered up with it.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I've made two so far and winging it is the way to go! Love that fabric line too!

It looks fabulous! I think I'd add borders because it looks wonderful on the bed. A postage stamp quilt is on my list to make too, although I have no idea what year it will be before I get to it! LOL
ReplyDeleteI really think you should just send it to me and let me decide whether I should put borders on it or not. :o) (Guess that didn't work, huh?)
ReplyDeleteI would definitely make it a bed size - I think you would get more use out of it that way and it is way to pretty to just use some of the time.
I'd add borders...then send it out to get it quilted LOL...that way you can move on to sew other projects while it's being quilted :)
ReplyDeleteI'd add borders, that way it can be used on the couch or on the bed! I think my new size minimum is a twin. Any smaller then that and my family is just not happy! LOL As for quilting.....I'd probably go simple and do it myself! Very pretty, btw! I think I have 3 Giddy charm packs that need made into something!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh I love it!! I have my giddy postage stamp quilt across the bottom of my king bed and I like the look for now. I didn't put on a border and I quilted it rambling style and I love it! Check out some of the others in the group to see if you like the border added....I am curious to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteI didn't put a border on my Postage Stamp and I really wish I had. I have it on a twin bed and it *just* fits so one border would probably make it the perfect size.
Wow, that is beautiful Jen! I always wanted to make a postage stamp quilt. Yours is absolutely gorgeous. Whether you add a border or not, it's so nice!! It would be nice to be able to put it on your bed though. :-) I like the "wing it" approach...makes it more unique and not overthought.
ReplyDeleteAdd borders if you think you want it to fit nicely on a bed...and remember once quilted and washed there is some shrinkage so think about that too! It is a darling and fun in GIDDY!
ReplyDeleteYou know I'd quilt that up for you in a heart beat!
Wow, looks great, Jen. Good job.
ReplyDeleteSo Pretty! I have an award for you on my blog. Please visit the following link to see it. http://lazydaisycrochet.blogspot.com/2012/02/versatile-blogger-award-x-2.html
ReplyDeleteI think your layout is just great....sometimes we think through things too much. If you really want it for a bed quilt then add a border...you will regret it otherwise!
ReplyDeleteit will be beautiful whatever you decide!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it Jen! I'm with the add borders crowd. You can always use a bed quilt as a lap quilt - it's just a big lap quilt LOL!
