Hello there! I'm a bad blogger these days, aren't I? Well to be honest, I have nothing to talk about. Terrible, I know. I haven't really been sewing. I am working on something but it can't be revealed yet. I also have those other projects hanging over my head but I won't list them here again. It just depresses me.
I joined the Quilter's Day Swap hosted by Heidi and I got my items out on time. I'm sure my partner has gotten them already but I haven't heard. Here's what I sent:
I was on my Granny Square kick (still am; fighting the urge to go cut 2.5" squares) and I made my partner a mug rug. I just shrunk the squares down just a bit. I made the same block with 2.5" squares, intending to make that one the mug rug but it was too big. Some wonder clips, a cute zippered bag and done. I wanted to do more but I just didn't have the time. Work is for the birds. :p
You know this time last year, I was spending my days just sewing away. Not making any money but sewing, sewing, sewing. I still have the quilt tops that I finished last summer hanging over my bannister, heckling me every day. Finish meeeee! QUILT MEEEEEEE! UGH. QUIET! I will finish you when I have time! GRRRRRR. Kicker is... I have backings for 3 of the tops. Sigh. So sad.
Enjoy your weekend!

Lucky swap partner Jen. That granny square mug rug is adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh hear ya...just want to sew! I want to start Granny, Swoon, and now working on Doc. I didn't join the swap for fear I wouldn't make the deadline...your gifts are sweet!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of making a completely scrappy granny square quilt. I have so many 2-1/2 inch squares cut, I may as well keep trying to use them up, right? LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky swap partner...great gifts!! Now I really like that mug rug and I have a lot of that ME fabric...in fact some left over squares...I need to make a granny square...yes I do!!
ReplyDeleteawesome swap goodies! you're a good partner (I know this for a fact!) I won some of those wonder clips this morning, can't wait to try them out!
ReplyDeleteYou're a bad blogger? Oh geez, have you stopped by mine lately? Haha - probably not since I haven't posted for nearly a month. So unlike me!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about having things hanging over my head...they just taunt us, those unfinished projects. Sigh. Someday (soon?) we will both have some time to play. Chin up, Jen :)
Cute items Jen! Love the mug rug! I'm a bad blogger as well....but worked on something today that I plan on posting soon :)
ReplyDeleteI really love those granny squares! I've been in a slump - can't decide what I want to do, although I'm leaning toward something with embroidery stitches - especially French knots for some reason.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
I just remembered that I have about 10 girl scout patches to sew on. Tonight. A sit-upon that needs a vinyl cover. Tonight. A drawstring mesh bag that needs finishing. Tonight. Frannie has to be out of the house by 7:45 AM. She's going to a girl scout jamboree, but not overnight. I guess the thoughts of losing myself in French knots will have to wait until tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYou could never be a bad blogger Jen...we know you are busy, but also please know we are happy when you post! Your swap partner is so lucky....wonderful goodies you sent.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great swap Jen! That's life's big conundrum, isn't it? When we have the time we don't have the money and when we have the money, we don't have the time. And what gives these days? I don't have anything to say either. What do you suppose has us all tongue tied???
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great swap don't worry about having unfinished product projects I have like 50 of them
ReplyDeleteWell, I love the granny square mug rug. So doggone cute. Great idea. My blog has been slow too, I keep telling myself that summer is coming.
ReplyDeleteI've been a bad blogger, too! Lots of reading and no commenting. Love the goodies you sent! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't been finishing much lately either, so you are not alone. :)

ReplyDeleteLooks like awesome swap gifts! Don't worry about not posting often........I haven't really been commenting at all in the past few weeks. It's just been busy! I understand why you don't want to go into your list of projects! I feel the same way about mine.....I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone. Enjoy tne rest of your week :-)
ReplyDeleteoh Jen that is a lovely swap parcel to receive.xx
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate it when your unfinished projects taunt you?! You're too funny. Nice mug rug-- it makes me wonder if I could knit one. Also, I like that little zippered bag. I have that material in my stash from years ago when I thought I was going to learn to quilt.
ReplyDeleteWanna talk unfinished projects??? I can't even go there. But I'm always ready to start a new. LOL
