I told you I had some major sewing momentum the last week or so. 4 blog posts in a week?? I haven't done that in a long time!
I'm working on getting some quilt tops prepped for quilting. My Scrappy Trip Along has been waiting for a year (this week!) to get quilted. I've held back because I wanted to add borders to this top to make a bit bigger for my bed.
Now that I'm looking at it, I'm wondering if the green outer border is going to be too much for the quilt. My thought is to do a small inner containment border of a white; no wider than 2" finished and then a 4" - 5" finished outer border.
Thoughts? Too much with all the scrappiness? I really want to use this yardage because that's what I bought it for. I really don't want to throw it into a tub and use it "some day".
I have one more thing to show you but that will have to wait until tomorrow. :)
Enjoy your day!

You're on a roll Jen! I think the green border will be fine. It's such pretty fabric! :0)
ReplyDeleteThumbs up! White. Then green. Go for it!
ReplyDeleteI love "green" so my thoughts are go with the 4 to 5 inch outer border. As you said, it's for your bed so the green will make a great frame around the edges!!
ReplyDeletei vote nix white and go with green! can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteI think you should skip the white because it's to loud for this quilt (hope you understand what I wanna say). Perhaps a lighter green or a light pink? And then the green border ... definitly the green border.
ReplyDeleteI would say if that is what you got it for....go for it! I left mine without borders because it was already so big.
ReplyDeleteI like the white and then green! Looks good!
ReplyDeletewhatever you do will be lovely! I agree you should frame it out before the green, white is ok, or a gray maybe?
ReplyDeleteI think most anything would work with that fun quilt Jen. I'm tempted to go with what Hildy said too -- maybe skip the white? Either way it's will be wonderful!
