What a boring post title.
I got my 6th block finished for the Jelly Roll Sampler done. CUTE!
Another thing I tried was installing and sewing zippers. I tried once and my attempt didn't come out very well. So I never tried again. Until I saw Jen's cute little pouches. I needed to hunt down the pattern (my LQS had it - last one too!) and give it a try.
SUCCESS! I'm quite pleased in how it turned out. I have a bunch of fat quarters that I bought a few years ago when I started my sewing adventures and never used them. Now, when I look at them, I have no idea what drew me to them. So I put a few to good use and made a practice pouch. I love how I even had a button to match!
Why is this picture orientated wrong?? It's fine in my picture folder. Darn blogger!
I gave this one to Punkie. She saw it and immediately asked if it was for her. How could I say no. She has since filled it with her pennies. LOL.
I'm going to make these for Amelia's teachers as end of the year thank you gifts. I think I'm going to put a gift card to Target in each of them. Just have to sit with Amelia and pick out some fabrics to use.
But this has me thinking, I wonder how hard it would be to install zippers using tote patterns that don't have them? It can't be that hard, can it?
Enjoy your day!

I LOVE IT Jen. You did an awesome job. Lucky Punkie and your right how can you say no to that adorable little face. I sure couldn't. Love your block too. That blue is sooo neat.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... never thought about that. I don't think it would be too hard. You may have to add just a little more fabric to compensate. But I will let you try it first... LOL! Love the bag and the block!
ReplyDeleteWow Jen, you did a great job. I love the pouch and it would make a great gift. You have inspired me to try zippers again. I'm kind of the hit and miss type with the zippers...sometimes they sew into something without trouble...the next....I wind up wanting to pull out my hair!
ReplyDeletedarling! I love your color combos!
ReplyDeleteLove that little pouch. The fabrics are perfect! And that button is the finishing touch! Zippers aren't so hard...
ReplyDeleteYour jelly roll block is cute too. Moving right along with that project!
Thanks for the shout out, Jen! Your bag is SUPER cute. Isn't that pattern awesome?? When Bitsy comes back I'm itching to make some more.
ReplyDeleteYour new block is really nice...love those fabs!
Love your jelly roll block! I have to make mine this weekend. Love the pouch to! I've not tried anything with a zipper yet. One of these days! :0)
ReplyDeleteI love your zip pouch! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteCute doesn't quite cover it...I love how your block turned out. Perfect color choices, Jen. And that pouch, it is really cute. Cute story about Amelia wanting it. A perfect teacher gift....they will love it.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute zipper bag! And I love the fabrics you chose - that button is perfect.
ReplyDeleteIf you did such a great job on this zipper, you won't have a problem adding a zipper to a tote.
You block is so cute too.
I love that zippered pouch! It looks so cute with the matching button. Amelia is a lucky little girl :o)
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for fabric pouches. Not sure what it is that makes them so attractive, but I am constantly drawn to them and have a bunch in my drawer waiting to be used.
Your pouch is absolutely darling...what a great teacher gift even without the gift card!
ReplyDeleteLove your block also!
